A Brand New Baby Website for 2025!

A Brand New Baby Website for 2025!

Wow – what a way to end 2024! Something I thought was completely gone and lost forever suddenly reappeared! I take great pride in my websites and social media accounts and to find this one had disappeared without warning was hard. I missed you guys! And without any way of connecting, there was no way to let you know that I had finally built a new website. Yes – it took me long enough LOL.

YoungWomenOverFifty.com – my brand new site for amazing women who are rediscovering and loving life over 50, 60 and beyond! Cany you say, let’s declutter? Move our achy-shaky selves? and how knows what else – squirrel!

The site itself is still a baby. But since this one disappeared without notice, I don’t want to miss the chance to bring you up to speed on the new one! And nothing like a new year to kick off a new site!

There will also be a Facebook Page which will work with the new site. The link is at the bottom of the website. Over the next couple weeks, I’ll be adding back some of my old favorites (NOT ME FIVE, the Kitchen Inventory Lists, and of course from Cindy’s Porch, The Three Rules of Not BUYing).

I you have suggestions, let me know.

I am so excited – grinning from ear to ear. Can’t wait to share everything with you and really dive in and getting going.

Take a peek, you are the first to see it (I’m nervous LOL).

Let’s rock the new year.

Still alive in 2025!

Cheers from a distance,
Cindy

Enjoying Your Special Haven at Home

Enjoying Your Special Haven at Home

Do you have a favorite place in your home to hunker in and just be?

Right now, I’m in my new-to-me office. Outside the window there is a ton of fresh snow and it’s beginning to melt. Every once in a while a tree branch will let go it’s snow load and a white mist ploofs out everywhere. I have my little space heater going so it’s nice and toasty. Kenny G is quietly serenading me in the corner. It’s perfect.

Take the time to create your space. It may a favorite chair in the corner, a nook in family room, or a room all to itself. Make it yours. And then enjoy it.

Yesterday, I went snowshoeing with my guy. First time this year. It was something I didn’t know I needed. I have been feeling very slothy lately. But I’m also focused on un-slothing myself. However, one’s best of intentions mean nothing when you DO nothing. So I loaded up my gear and we headed out.

Absolute wonder! It was stunning. Yup, I went a little slower than I would have two or three years ago, but we did it. The entire trail, plus a side loop. Fresh quiet snow. We had the trail to ourselves. I felt SO good when we were done. Serious accomplishment! Now I won’t be so nervous about the next trail! DOing the FITNESS focus!

And a quick update on the FOOD focus. I’ve been purposely planning meals that use up the foods we already have in the home. And it’s been revealing! Who knew there was so much yummy food at the back of our pantry and the bottom of the freezer! And my husband and I are being stubborn about it. It’s so easy to whip into the store and pick up something quick. But it’s also so easy to just look, plan, and DO with the foods you already own. SHOP at home FIRST. And what we’re discovering is that all the fruits and veggies we froze last summer and fall are delicious right now. I’ve been adding peaches from our own peach tree into my morning porridge. It’s like I’m having a taste of summer all over again. Yum! As I put together my FOOD focus plans for this week, I’ll be harvesting from my own fridge, freezer, and pantry FIRST!

Do something my FUTURE self will thank me for…. this afternoon, I’m going to focus on a project I’ve been picking away at for a couple months now. I’ve got a plan and I’m eager to dive in. This is the next stage of my January Juicy Red Marker challenge. The first stage was to set up and finish this cozy haven I now call my office. The next stage is to work in that office and get stuff done! I’m grinning already.

But first, my stomping buddy just called. Yup, we’re headed out for a one-hour walk down by the lake. A few thousand steps to add to today’s FITNESS focus. I’ll be bringing my camera as well!

Grin… I’ve been wandering all over the place with this post. Just call me squirrel 🙂 ! You have a wonderful Sunday. Remember to take the time to plan out the upcoming week. And take the time to focus on you – a cozy nook, a bit of moving that amazing body you are attached to, and wonderful foods – using up what you’ve already paid for!

Cheers from a very snowy distance,
Cindy
